Job summary

BDO is seeking an Assistant Manager in Internal Audit within the Assets and Wealth sector. You will help plan engagements, organise project delivery and lead complex assignments, while maintaining strong client relationships in financial services. Strong governance and knowledge of UK regulations are essential.

You’ll collaborate with senior managers and partners, mentor staff, and contribute to the development of the team in a flexible, agile working environment across the UK.

Qualifications

• Qualified in ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent internal audit qualification.
• Experience delivering internal audit and regulatory assurance for financial services.
• Solid understanding of UK regulatory environment and risk controls.
• People management experience and ability to influence stakeholders.

As Assistant Manager within the Internal Audit team you will have involvement in supporting the planning of engagements within the Assets and Wealth sector. In this role you will organise the delivery of the work and sometimes directly lead more complex assignments. You’ll manage internal audit internal control and regulatory assignments for Financial Services clients, including planning, organisation of resources and review. You’ll play an important role in developing and maintaining deep client relationships and development members of the BDO team.

You’ll Be Someone With

• An Accountancy or internal audit professional qualifications and/or memberships i.e. ICAEW, CIMA, CIIA, ACCA etc or relevant industry qualification.
• Internal audit or regulatory assurance experience working in financial services and ideally with wealth or asset management
• Diverse internal audit or advisory assignments experience and understand internal audit methodology and techniques
• Functional knowledge of the UK regulatory environment with deeper knowledge of asset/wealth management and the risks that they face
• People manager experience that includes managing others alongside strong influencing skill
• Sound technical knowledge of financial regulated products and / customer facing
