Qualifications

• Professional qualifications in accountancy/internal audit (ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA, etc) or relevant industry qualifications.
• Internal audit or regulatory assurance experience in financial services (ideally wealth/asset management).
• Diverse internal audit/advisory assignments and knowledge of internal audit methodologies.
• UK regulatory environment knowledge with emphasis on asset/wealth management risks.
• People management experience, with ability to influence and lead teams.
• Strong knowledge of regulated financial products and customer-facing roles.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning engagements within the Assets and Wealth sector and organise delivery of work.

As Assistant Manager within the Internal Audit team you'll have involvement in supporting the planning of engagements within the Assets and Wealth sector. In this role you will organise the delivery of the work and sometimes directly lead more complex assignments. You'll manage internal audit, control, and regulatory assignments for Financial Services clients, including planning, organisation of resources and review. You'll play an important role in developing and maintaining deep client relationships and developing members of the BDO team.

You'll be someone with:

• An Accountancy or internal audit professional qualifications and/or memberships i.e. ICAEW, CIMA, CIIA, ACCA etc or relevant industry qualification.
• Internal audit or regulatory assurance experience working in financial services and ideally with wealth or asset management
• Diverse internal audit or advisory assignments experience and understand internal audit methodology and techniques
• Functional knowledge of the UK regulatory environment with deeper knowledge of asset/wealth management and the risks that they face
• People manager experience that includes managing others alongside strong influencing skills
• Sound technical knowledge of financial regulated products and customer facing roles
