Job summary

Carpenter Box, part of the Sumer Group, is seeking an Assistant Manager in Brighton who will deliver high-quality client service. You will support Managers and Associates, ensuring timely, accurate assignments while developing your technical and leadership skills.

The role requires ACCA/ACA qualification (or nearing completion), a proactive mindset, integrity, diplomacy, strong commercial awareness, and excellent communication. You will mentor staff and contribute to client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide a first-class service to clients, responding promptly and professionally to their needs.
• Provide high-quality support to Supervising Managers and Associates, enabling them to work effectively.
• Plan, control and review assignments accurately, cost-effectively and within agreed timescales.
• Maintain positive client relationships and identify opportunities to develop new relationships.
• Communicate with clients by telephone, email and in person, ensuring appropriate Partner clearance is obtained before providing advice.
• Supervise and train staff on assignments where required, providing constructive feedback and support.
• Assist with budgetary control and ensure assignments are delivered efficiently and commercially.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with Managers regarding timescales, progress and deliverability.
