Job summary

Halfords Garage Services is expanding with new Fusion centres and a focus on delivering a first-class customer experience. As Assistant Manager you will support the Centre Manager, drive profitability, and balance workshop duties with frontline sales and service.

You will lead by example, coach staff, and ensure high standards of health and safety while fostering an inclusive, high-performing team. This role offers progression and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering high customer satisfaction through effective management.
• Coaching/training colleagues to improve performance.
• Experience meeting Health and Safety standards and ensuring compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• IT proficiency with ability to learn in-house systems.
• A current valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Centre Manager to drive profitability and improve the customer journey.
• Split time between the workshop alongside technicians and the sales/customer service areas.

Job description

This is a really exciting time to join our Halfords Garage Services team. You will be working at one of our new Fusion centres; it will be upgraded with the latest facilities to lead the way in providing a first-class customer experience and a great working environment, where you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the centres success.

As an Assistant Manager, you’ll work alongside the Centre Manager, to provide productive management and leadership, driving profitability, with firm focus on the customers journey. Ideally you will have had previous hands-on experience as a mechanic as you will be dividing your time between the workshop, working alongside the technicians, and assisting the Centre Manager with daily sales and customer service.

• On-target earnings up to £42,200
• Comprising a base salary of £32,500 - £34,000
• An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £8,200 per year.
• 5 days a week (this centre is closed on Sunday’s)

Skills and experience

• Experience / Ability to deliver high customer satisfaction and experience through effective management
• Experience / Ability to deliver coaching/training in the moment to colleaguesExperience of meeting compliance standards across Health and Safety
• Excellent communication skills, verbally and written
• IT Proficient, with the willingness to learn in-house systems
• A current valid driving licence
