Job summary

The Old Station Nursery Group is seeking an Assistant Nursery Manager for our Rubery-based site. You will support the Senior Nursery Manager, lead the team, and ensure high standards of care and education across the base room responsibilities.

You will mentor staff, drive EYFS commitments, and foster partnerships with families while maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment. DBS checks and right-to-work verification apply.

Responsibilities

  • Lead inspections and ensure compliance when Senior Nursery Manager is supporting other sites.
  • Lead and mentor the nursery team to deliver high-quality early years education with pride and energy.
  • Support the Senior Nursery Manager in overseeing all aspects of nursery operations, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Act as a role model, fostering initiative, creativity, and high standards of care.
  • Build strong partnerships with families, colleagues, and external agencies to promote collaboration and outcomes for children.
  • Monitor EYFS implementation to provide engaging and nurturing learning opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for the nursery in the Senior Nursery Manager's absence.
  • Promote continuous improvement with constructive feedback and professional development.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive environment that respects each child's needs.

Pay:£34,320 - £34.32 per Annum, £16 per hour
Working Hours:Monday to Friday -8.25 hours per day, with 45 min lunch 41.25 hour weekly contract

What being a AssistantNursery Manager involves

As a AssistantNursery Manager, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Nursery Manager to lead and inspire your team while maintaining excellence in your base room responsibilities. You will:

  • You may be required to lead inspections, and be accountable for the nurseries compliance and smooth operation if the Senior Nursery Manager is supporting other sites.
  • Lead and mentor the nursery team to deliver high-quality early years education with pride and energy.
  • Support the Senior Nursery Manager in overseeing all aspects of nursery operations, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Act as a role model, fostering an environment of initiative, creativity, and high standards of care.
  • Build strong partnerships with families, colleagues, and external agencies to promote collaboration and excellent outcomes for children.
  • Monitor and guide the team's implementation of the EYFS framework, ensuring engaging and nurturing learning opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for the nursery in the Senior Nursery Manager's absence, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, providing constructive feedback and supporting professional development within your team.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that respects the unique needs of every child.
About our Nursery

My First Friends Rubery nursery prides itself on its large spaces and stimulating environment and beautiful outdoor space. Rubery is situated on Park Way, on Great Park opposite Brewers Fayre and Nuffield Health. Entry to the nursery is off Ashbrook Drive and there is ample parking available.
