Job summary

Optical Express in Leeds is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager for our Leeds Eye Hospital to lead a high-performing team across laser eye, lens replacement and cataract services. The role combines clinical and commercial exposure, with opportunities to advance while delivering exceptional patient care in a state-of-the-art setting.

You will recruit, coach and develop staff, manage daily clinic operations and promote laser surgery benefits to patients.

Qualifications

• Experience managing teams in an optical, healthcare or premium retail setting.
• Proven ability to drive in-clinic performance and patient experience.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Hours of Work: Full-Time, 40hrs pw, including evenings & weekends

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager for our Leeds Eye Hospital, where we use the latest state of the art equipment to provide Laser eye, Lens replacement and cataract consultations and surgery procedures, post op appointments and also retail services for eyewear. The successful candidate will work closely with the Clinic and Surgery managers gaining experience in clinical and commercial aspects of our business, whilst also providing support to manage a high performing team.

Key Responsibilities

You will be customer facing and you will help drive performance of the clinic. You’ll also be responsible for the daily operational efficiency of the clinic; a key part of your role will be developing the team and also promoting the benefits of laser surgery to patients.

You will have strong management experience within an Optical, healthcare or hi-end retail setting. You’ll be adept at delivering great results through your passion for people and by working closely with members of your team to develop them through performance management.

It goes without saying that you’ll possess excellent communication and presentation skills, be articulate, motivated to achieve and have a willingness to learn and progress within Optical Express.

Day to day

• In-clinic and telemed consultations, discussing life changing benefits of LVC or IOL surgery
• Ensure the practice is presentable and maintained to the highest standards of tidiness and cleanliness which showcase the professional image of Optical Express
• Help recruit, induct, coach and support your team to ensure all team members meet acceptable levels of knowledge and competence
• Ensure the team influences and advises potential patients on the most suitable and appropriate solution for their needs
