Metro Pubs is seeking an Assistant Manager / Bar Manager to lead the bar operations within a busy pub, working alongside the General Manager to ensure smooth service and memorable customer experiences.

You will drive wet sales, manage a high-performing team, and take responsibility for the pub in the GM's absence, while supporting overall site performance and commercial targets across the venue.

Responsabilités

• Support the General Manager in all aspects of running the business, including covering the pub in their absence.
• Lead and develop the bar team to deliver exceptional service and maximise sales opportunities.
• Take ownership of stock control, ordering, wastage management and bar profitability.
• Support recruitment, training, coaching and performance management across the wider pub team.
• Drive operational excellence across front-of-house and bar operations.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, licensing requirements, health & safety, and food safety procedures.
• Contribute to labour management, shift planning and achieving business KPIs.

As an Assistant Manager / Bar Manager, you'll be at the heart of our management team, helping to ensure the smooth running of a busy pub while taking ownership of the bar operation. Working closely with the General Manager, you'll lead from the front, creating memorable customer experiences, driving wet sales, and developing a high-performing team.

While this role has a strong focus on the bar, it is also a key Assistant Manager position within the business. You'll support all areas of the pub operation, help deliver commercial targets, and take responsibility for the overall running of the site in the General Manager's absence.

• The ability to think on your feet and adapt to challenges during busy service periods.

• Sufficient spoken and written English to perform the role safely and understand allergen controls.
