Job description

This is a full-time position responsible for the day-to-day running of the business. Responsible for leading the team in all sales and operational processes, with a keen eye for detail and ability to OWN IT. This role is accountable to various KPI’s and is responsible for the recruitment, nurturing & development of an elevated team capable of achieving them consistently.

Job Description

Everlast Gyms is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team in Epsom, United Kingdom. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our fitness facility, ensuring exceptional member experiences and supporting the overall success of the gym.

  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily gym operations and maintaining high standards of service
  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of fitness professionals and front-desk staff
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe environment for members and staff
  • Manage member enquiries, resolve complaints, and maintain positive relationships with gym members
  • Assist in creating and implementing marketing strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones
  • Monitor and maintain gym equipment, scheduling repairs and replacements as needed
  • Contribute to budgeting and financial management, including tracking expenses and revenue
  • Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage during all operating hours
  • Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to improve staff performance and knowledge
  • Support the implementation of new programmes and initiatives to enhance member experience
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in gym management or assistant management role within the fitness industry
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Excellent customer service skills and a passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals
  • Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and operational reporting
  • Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations in a gym environment
  • Ability to create and manage staff schedules effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Relevant fitness qualifications (e.g., personal training certification)
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Up-to-date knowledge of fitness industry trends and best practices
  • Familiarity with gym equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in using gym management software and MS Office suite
