Job summary

Hawksmoor is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to lead the front-of-house team and deliver warm, confident hospitality. You will support the Restaurant Manager in running the floor, developing people and maintaining high standards while being a hands-on leader during service.

Ideal candidates have experience as an Assistant Bar Manager, Supervisor or strong Head Bartender in a quality, cocktail-led venue, with a passion for cocktails, wines, spirits, and guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in a quality cocktail-led venue or hospitality setting.
• Ability to lead by example and develop a front-of-house team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Restaurant Manager in running the floor during service.
• Lead shifts on the bar and the floor, upholding Hawksmoor standards.
• Collaborate with kitchen, bar and reservations to maintain smooth service.
• Support recruitment, training and progression within the team.
• Mentor bartenders and barbacks through coaching and tastings.
• Manage stock, ordering and waste to control costs.
• Deputise for the Bar Manager when needed.

Assistant Restaurant Manager

As Assistant Restaurant Manager at Hawksmoor, you’ll play a key role in leading the front-of-house team and delivering warm, confident hospitality every day. You’ll support the Restaurant Manager in running the floor, developing people and maintaining high standards, while being a visible, hands-on leader during service.

What You’ll Do

• Support the Bar Manager with day-to-day leadership of the bar team
• Lead shifts behind the bar confidently, ensuring drinks quality, service and speed meet Hawksmoor standards
• Lead shifts on the floor, setting standards and creating a positive, welcoming atmosphere
• Work closely with kitchen, bar and reservations teams to keep service running smoothly
• Support recruitment, training and progression within the team
• Help train and develop bartenders and barbacks through coaching and tastings
• Manage stock, ordering, and waste to maintain excellent cost control
• Be a visible, hands-on leader on the floor and behind the bar
• Deputise for the Bar Manager when needed, keeping service smooth and consistent

Who You Are

• Experienced as an Assistant Bar Manager, Supervisor or strong Head Bartender in a quality, cocktail-led venue
• Passionate about cocktails, wines, spirits and creating memorable guest experiences
• A supportive leader who develops and motivates their team
• Organised, energetic and confident under pressure
• Ambitious and ready to progress towards a Bar Manager role
