Job summary

Randstad Care in Scotland is seeking an Assistant Manager for a children’s residential home in Danderhall. You will partner with the Registered Manager to run the home and deliver high-quality 24/7 care to young people facing emotional challenges.

The role requires a deep understanding of youth development, UK childcare standards, and a commitment to completing the QCF Level 5 leadership qualification within 18 months.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Significant background within a children's residential care setting with a deep understanding of youth developmental needs.
  • Qualifications: HNC in Social Care, SVQ Level 3 in Care, or equivalent qualification.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of relevant childcare legislation and National Care Standards.
  • Licence: A valid UK manual driving licence is essential.
  • Development Commitment: Willingness to register for and complete the QCF Level 5 qualification.

  • Partner with the Registered Manager to ensure the efficient operational running of the residential home.
  • Provide high-quality, continuous care to children and young people facing emotional and developmental challenges.
  • Deliver 24/7 support and supervision to the care team, including direct observation of practice across shift patterns.
  • Contribute to comprehensive care plans, risk assessments, and formal review reports.
  • Promote an open, participatory management style that motivates staff and prioritises team well-being.
