Job summary

Wildwood - Peterborough is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to lead front-of-house operations, guest engagement, and team coaching. You’ll work closely with the General Manager to maintain a high-energy service, ensure flawless dining experiences, and drive sales through community outreach and exceptional hospitality.

You’ll manage recruitment, training, and wellbeing, while keeping controls on stock, labour, and safety.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and team management experience in a busy hospitality setting.
• Strong ability to motivate and develop staff across front and back of house.
• Experience driving guest satisfaction through service excellence.
• Knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, and performance coaching.
• Good stock control, ordering, and cost awareness.

Your day-to-day:

• Running slick, high-energy services with genuine hospitality
• Leading and supporting the front-of-house team
• Driving footfall and sales with creative outreach (tasters, engagement, flair!)
• Handling all things people-related - from recruitment and training to team wellbeing and performance management
• Managing stock levels, placing accurate orders, and working with suppliers
• Keeping tight control on labour, rotas, and productivity
• Ensuring all operational tasks (including health & safety, compliance and cash handling) are delivered to the highest standard
• Ensuring every guest leaves feeling wowed
• Representing Wildwood with style, confidence, and passion
