Job description

Assistant Management Accountant - Outdoors

Assistant Management Accountant
Head Office

Responsible to: Financial Controller
Department: Finance
Location: JD Sports Fashion PLC, Bury, Greater Manchester
Hours: 40 hrs per week

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts for JD Outdoor cost centres including variance analysis
  2. Review of costs and ensuring correct coding for head office and store variable costs
  3. Assist with production of budgets/forecasts
  4. Assist with preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  5. Assist with monthly cost centre packs and liaise with cost centre managers as required
  6. Assist with monthly recharge process to group companies
  7. Assist with daily sales and other reporting requirements
  8. Adhere to group reporting deadlines
  9. Ad hoc project work as required by the business

Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:
  1. Part qualified CIMA/ACCA/AAT
  2. Attention to detail and accuracy.
  3. Strong analytical skills required in order to investigate, understand and explain variances and overall business performance.
  4. Ability to prioritise workloads in order to meet deadlines.
  5. Ability to work under your own initiative.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  7. Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  8. Assistance and study support can be provided to continue towards relevant financial qualification.
  9. Retail industry experience desirable

Salary:
£28000 - £35000 per annum + Study support, hybrid working
