Job summary

We’re looking for a Assistant Management Accountant to join our team in, Kings Hill, UK.

Our Assistant Management Accountant provides vital support to the Group Finance team, ensuring accurate financial records and assisting with various accounting processes. You will be responsible for a range of tasks, including reconciliations, management accounts, fixed asset management, and supporting broader group financial functions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform accurate monthly reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and managing intercompany transactions.
  • Master Data Management: Keep customer and supplier data up to date and error-free.
  • Management Reporting: Support preparation of management accounts across group entities, including overseas subsidiaries.
  • Variance Analysis: Contribute to the analysis of actual vs. budget/forecast performance.
  • Fixed Asset Oversight: Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure accurate depreciation and data recording.
  • Cash Flow & Budgeting: Assist with weekly cash forecasting and support the annual budgeting process.
  • Tax Compliance: Help prepare VAT returns and support other relevant tax submissions.
  • Year-End Support: Aid in statutory accounts preparation and manage audit queries promptly.
  • Internal Controls: Strengthen financial controls, especially within accounts payable processes.
  • Payment Processing: Manage fortnightly payment runs, ensuring correct coding and full authorization.

Experience we look for:

Essential

  • Part qualified ACCA/CIMA.
  • Agile and responsive to a fast changing and deadline driven environment.
  • Willingness to build relationships and collaborate across the wider business with the ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups across a broad demographic.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Focused on outcomes which contribute to organisational development with the ability to successfully multi task with a good attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in FMCG advantageous.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
