KCR Solutions are assisting a well-established manufacturing business in Washington in their search for an ambitious and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to further develop management accounting skills within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Assistant Management Accountant or similar finance role.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of management accounts processes.
• Experience in variance analysis, margin reporting and KPI production.
• Exposure to costing and stock-related accounting.
• Good Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of data.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
• AAT qualified or actively studying ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly management accounts.
• Produce variance analysis and investigate significant movements vs budget/forecast.
• Provide margin analysis to support profitability and operational decisions.
• Maintain and report on key business KPIs.
• Support product costing and cost analysis activities.
• Assist budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Prepare accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyse production and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Support month-end close activities and ensure reporting deadlines are met.
• Assist with cash flow reporting as required.
• Provide financial support to operational stakeholders across the business.
• Support transactional finance duties, with focus on Accounts Payable.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, operational analysis and supporting business performance.

The Role

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Producing variance analysis and investigating any significant movements against budget and forecast.
• Providing margin analysis to support profitability and operational decision-making.
• Maintaining and reporting on key business KPIs.
• Supporting product costing and cost analysis activities.
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Preparing accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analysing production and operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

About You

• Previous experience in an Assistant Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.

• Exposure to costing and stock-related accounting.
