Job summary

The role works directly with the Group Financial Controller and Group Financial Systems Controller, involving monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations. Hybrid working, up to £40,000, with study support.

Qualifications

• Currently studying towards ACCA or CIMA
• 2-3 years' finance or management accounting experience
• Hands-on month-end and management accounts experience
• High attention to detail and the confidence to present your numbers

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and management reporting
• Perform income and cost variance analysis for Group FC and Group FSC
• Execute month-end processes with complete, accurate information
• Handle payroll accounting tasks including journals and reconciliations
• Carry out balance sheet reconciliations and assist audits
• Support finance projects and process improvements

A well-established group is looking for an ambitious part-qualified accountant to join its collaborative finance team. This is a genuinely broad role for someone who wants to build technical depth and commercial understanding rather than sit in one corner of the month-end process.

You'll work directly with the Group Financial Controller and Group Financial Systems Controller, supporting reporting across the group's key legal entities - which means real exposure and the chance to take ownership of more complex work as you grow.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing monthly management accounts and management reporting
• Income and cost variance analysis, presented to the Group FC and Group FSC
• Month-end processes, ensuring information is complete, accurate and on time
• Payroll accounting - change data, journals and monthly reconciliations to Sage
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting internal and external year-end audit
• Finance projects and process improvement

What you'll need
