Job summary

Axon Moore are partnering with an industry leading business in Blackburn seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to deliver timely financial reporting and support the production of management accounts. The role offers exposure across the wider organisation and a clear path to progression.

You will assist in monthly management accounts, analysis of financial reports, and month-end processes, with study support and a bespoke training plan.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar management accounting role.
• Experience with accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• AAT qualified or studying ACCA/CIMA.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Team player with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports
• Support with month-end and year-end processes
• Prepare month end P&L and balance sheet reconciliations
• Posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Perform accurate cash flow forecasts
• Support internal and external audit requirements
• Continuous improvement of finance processes
• Support the transactional team with ad hoc duties

Assistant Management Accountant | £35,000- £40,000 |Blackburn (Office Based) | Full Study Support

Axon Moore have partnered with an industry leading business in Blackburn which has witnessed significant growth in recent years whilst they seek to bolster the finance team with the recruitment of a Assistant Management Accountant who can make an immediate impact and contribute across the wider organisation.

As Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a key part in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting while supporting the production of management accounts. You will contribute to maintaining financial accuracy and compliance, providing insightful analysis to support effective decision-making and drive continued business success.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts


• Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports


• Supporting with month-end and year-end processes


• Preparation of month end P&L and balance sheet reconciliations


• Posting journals, accruals and prepayments


• Perform accurate cash flow forecasts


• Support internal and external audit requirements

Required Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in a similar position


• Previous experience working with accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations


• AAT Qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA qualification


• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)


• Adaptable and flexible


• Positive can-do attitude with an enthusiastic approach
