Role Overview

This position offers a qualified lawyer the chance to work with market leaders in catastrophic injury within our Complex Injury Claims Team. The Lead Lawyer manages high-value multi-track and catastrophic injury claims, including brain injuries, spinal injuries, amputations, and fatalities, often worth millions of pounds. These cases are handled to the highest standards.

Candidate Profile

We seek an ambitious individual with solid experience in personal injury law, ideally between NQ and 5 years PQE, eager to develop in this specialized field. Experience with indemnity, liability, and complex medical issues is preferred, along with excellent attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in managing a caseload of complex injury claims, often exceeding £1m in value.
2. Communicate with insurer clients and update them on case progress.
3. Analyze quantum evidence, prepare chronologies, and identify anomalies.
4. Review medical records to identify relevant issues for expert instruction.
5. Draft technical advice on liability, quantum, and causation issues.
6. Coordinate next steps and discuss strategies with the Lead Lawyer.
7. Interview witnesses and draft statements.
8. Liaise with involved parties, draft pleadings, and instruct counsel.
9. Attend court proceedings, mediations, and conferences.
10. Utilize case management systems effectively.
11. Supervise and develop junior staff.
12. Ensure compliance with SRA Standards & Regulations.
