Assistant Headteacher / SENCO

Job Title: Assistant Headteacher / SENDCoKey Stages: 3, 4, 5Working Pattern: Full-timePay Scale: Leadership Pay Scale
Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified teacher to join our team as SENDCo. You will lead our SEND Department, support students with special educational needs, oversee EHCPs, and manage the student support room. You will also lead a team of coordinators and a teaching assistant to ensure every student thrives.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the SEND Department
  • Oversee statutory processes, including EHCPs
  • Manage the student support room
  • Support and develop the SEND team
  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure inclusive education
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies

Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience in a SENDCo role or similar
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
