Philosophy Education are partnering with a specialist SEMH school in Bromley to recruit an ambitious, experienced Assistant Headteacher to join their senior leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a school leader who is passionate about supporting pupils with SEMH needs and creating an environment where every learner can thrive, with a clear focus on safeguarding and high standards of education and pastoral care.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in senior leadership within a school or specialist setting.
• Strong understanding of SEMH needs and vulnerable pupils.
• Outstanding classroom practitioner with a track record of pupil progress.
• Experience improving behaviour, engagement and outcomes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Calm, resilient and consistent when managing challenging situations.
• Passion for inclusion and raising attainment for all.

Responsibilities

• Support the Headteacher with strategic leadership and development.
• Lead on behaviour, pastoral provision and whole-school priorities.
• Promote a positive, nurturing approach to behaviour management.
• Support high-quality teaching and learning across the school.
• Monitor pupil progress, attendance and engagement.
• Coach, mentor and manage staff effectively.
• Collaborate with families and external professionals.
• Support safeguarding culture and procedures.
• Contribute to school improvement planning and wider leadership.
