Panoramic Associates is supporting a Surrey-based Special Education School in appointing an Assistant Headteacher for a 1-year fixed-term contract. This leadership role involves overseeing the secondary phase in a specialist setting for pupils aged 3-19 with autism and learning difficulties. The successful candidate will be part of the Senior Leadership Team, aiding in strategic and operational development during a growth period.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the secondary phase, ensuring high-quality teaching and effective regulation strategies.
2. Support school-wide improvement planning, curriculum delivery, and staff development.
3. Oversee EHCP processes, ensuring they are meaningful and effectively implemented.
4. Collaborate with the SLT to improve outcomes for pupils with complex needs.
5. Line manage teaching staff and contribute to a whole-school CPD program.

Candidate Requirements

1. Experience as part of a Senior Leadership Team in a special or SEN school.
2. Strong background working with pupils with autism, learning disabilities, and SLD, especially in secondary education.
3. In-depth knowledge of EHCPs, curriculum planning, and inclusive teaching strategies.
4. Confident, collaborative leadership style capable of supporting and inspiring others.
