Include Education Group Ltd’s Include/St Matthews in Darley Abbey seeks an Assistant Headteacher to lead on Behaviour, Personal Development and Wellbeing at our therapeutic special school. The role combines leadership with a part-time teaching commitment, keeping you connected to the classroom while shaping the whole-school approach to SEMH and Autism.

You will deputise for the Headteacher, supervise a team of teachers and middle leaders, and support the SENDCo with EHCP pupils; there is

Qualifications

• QTS and a degree, plus at least three years of solid classroom experience.
• Experience leading school improvement and developing staff.
• Leadership qualification (NPQSL/NPQH) or NASENCO is a bonus, not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee behaviour, attendance, personal development and pastoral support.
• Teach part of the week to stay connected to the classroom.
• Line manage a team of teachers and middle leaders.
• Support the SENDCo with EHCP pupils; may act as DSL or Deputy DSL with training.
