Bromley Beacon Academy, part of London South East Academies Trust, seeks an exceptional Assistant Headteacher & Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join the Senior Leadership Team. With reduced teaching duties, you will lead safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and wellbeing while guiding whole-school improvement and inclusion.

About the role

Bromley Beacon Academy is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated Assistant Headteacher & Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate leader who is committed to safeguarding, inclusion and improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

The successful candidate will lead all aspects of safeguarding and child protection across the academy, while playing a key role in the strategic leadership and daily management of the school. They will oversee attendance, behaviour, wellbeing, pastoral care and inclusion, as well as fulfil the role of Designated Teacher for Looked After and Previously Looked After Children.

With a reduced teaching commitment, the postholder will have the capacity to provide high-quality safeguarding leadership, work effectively with families and external agencies, and drive whole-school improvement. They will be a visible and approachable member of the Senior Leadership Team who champions high expectations, promotes a culture of safety and belonging, and ensures every pupil has the opportunity to thrive.

This role would suit an ambitious and committed leader with strong safeguarding expertise, excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for making a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people.

Welcome to the Bromley Beacon Academy. We offer Key Stage 1 to 5 provision for young people with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) Needs.
