Job summary

London South East Academies Trust is seeking a dedicated Progress & Engagement Guide to join the Assessment & Transition Centre (ATC) in Hayes, Bromley. This role focuses on supporting pupils' personal development, welfare, safeguarding and their successful transition into education.

The post is 22.2 hours per week across 3 days, term-time only (39 weeks), permanent, on LSEAT pay scale H17-H20. You will work with safeguarding and pastoral teams to support SEMH needs and engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged young people.
• Ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable and challenging pupils.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
• Calm, resilient, and able to support students through difficult situations.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Progress & Engagement Guide to join our supportive team within the Assessment & Transition Centre (ATC), part of our Secondary Alternative Provision in Hayes, Bromley. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed to helping vulnerable young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve success.

About the Role

As our Progress & Engagement Guide, you will play a vital role in supporting students' personal development, welfare, safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and engagement. You will work closely with pupils joining the provision, supporting their transition and helping them build the confidence and resilience needed to thrive.

Working alongside teaching, safeguarding and pastoral teams, you will provide targeted support to students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH), behavioural and attendance needs, helping them to access education and achieve positive outcomes.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

• Has experience working with secondary-aged young people.
• Can build positive, professional relationships with vulnerable and challenging pupils.
• Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
• Is calm, resilient and able to support students through difficult situations.
• Understands trauma-informed and restorative approaches.
• Works effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and with external agencies.

Desirable Experience

• Alternative Provision, PRU or SEMH settings.
• Mental Health First Aid training.
• Experience using systems such as Arbor or CPOMS.
• Full UK driving licence.
