Job summary

PEAK Academy in Yate is seeking an Assistant Headteacher (Curriculum) to oversee curriculum development and lead teaching across the school, in collaboration with the Head of School and leadership team.

The role focuses on growing and diversifying the pupil cohort, shaping a curriculum tailored to each pupil's needs, and upholding the Trust's values within a child-centred, safeguarding-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Oversee aspects of the curriculum
• Lead the development of teaching across the school
• Support the Head of School and leadership team in driving growth and diversification
• Lead learning for pupils with SEMH needs
• Guide and support staff so they can be at their best for pupils
• Listen to staff and act on their feedback
• Work with staff, families and external agencies to meet pupils' support needs
• Lead within the school's safeguarding culture
• Involve pupils in decisions where appropriate
• Collaborate with the leadership team to shape the school community in line with Trust values
