Job summary

Grosvenor Nursery School and Day Care Centre in Bolton is seeking an exceptional Assistant Headteacher to join our outstanding leadership team. You will lead high-quality teaching and learning, drive curriculum development across the Nursery School, Day Care Centre and High Needs Base, and champion inclusion to secure excellent outcomes for every child.

You will work closely with the Headteacher, inspire staff, and collaborate with families and external agencies to support children’s development

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status required.
• Significant EYFS teaching experience.
• Proven leadership and management experience in an early years setting.
• Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Framework and current developments.
• Experience of leading curriculum development, school improvement and coaching/mentoring.
• Commitment to inclusive practice and high aspirations for all children.

Responsibilities

• Lead the curriculum across the Nursery School, Day Care Centre and High Needs Base.
• Design, implement, monitor and evaluate an engaging curriculum.

• Champion provision for SEND and collaborate with families/external agencies.
• Develop outdoors and Forest School provision.
• Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Support Headteacher and deputise when needed.

You will inspire staff to deliver innovative, engaging and ambitious learning experiences that support children's development, wellbeing and readiness for school.

About the role

As Assistant Headteacher, you will:

• Be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team.
• Support the strategic leadership and ongoing development of the school.
• Lead the curriculum across the Nursery School, Day Care Centre and High Needs Base.
• Design, implement, monitor and evaluate an engaging curriculum that reflects outstanding early years practice and promotes children's curiosity, independence and love of learning.
• Lead and inspire high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across the setting.
• Contribute to self-evaluation, school improvement planning and innovation.
• Coach, mentor and develop staff to achieve the highest professional standards.
• Champion exceptional provision for children with SEND and work alongside families and external agencies to secure the very best outcomes for every child.
• Lead and develop our outdoors and Forest School provision.
• Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Support the Headteacher in the day-to-day leadership of the school and deputise when required.

We are looking for someone who:

Has:

• Qualified Teacher Status.
• Significant successful EYFS teaching experience.
• Proven leadership and management experience within an early years setting.
• Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Framework, SEND Code of Practice and current educational developments.
• Experience of leading curriculum development, school improvement and developing others through coaching and mentoring
• A passion for inclusive practice and high aspirations for all children
