Job summary

Springboard Project in Oldham invites applications for the post of Assistant Head of School to join the Senior Leadership Team. The role centres on directing the careers programme and personal development (including RSHE) across the school.

The successful candidate will lead a team, apply up-to-date pedagogy for SEMH learners, use data to drive improvement, and raise attainment while considering barriers to learning and students’ life experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience of leading a team within a school environment.
• Up to date with pedagogy and research for SEMH learners.
• Experience of data reporting and identifying patterns with solutions.
• Ability to develop options supporting pupil engagement in learning.
• Experience with current assessment practices and pupil progress tracking.
• Appreciation of barriers to learning and sensitivity to life circumstances.
• High expectations to raise attainment and help learners reach potential.

Job description

We are now looking to recruit to the post of Assistant Head of School to add to our current Senior Leadership Team structure. A core focus of this role will be to ensure the strategic direction of the careers programme and personal development (including RSHE) at Springboard Project.

The successful candidate will have:

• · Experience of leading a team within a school environment
• · Be fully up to date with pedagogy and research in delivering high quality experiences to SEMH young people
• · Experience of reporting on data and identifying patterns as well as recommending solutions to enhance the area of responsibility
• · Experience of developing options and alternatives that will support young people to engage in the learning process
• · Experience of current assessment practice and the use of data and pupil progress tracking to ensure that all learners achieve
• · A genuine appreciation of the potential barriers to a pupil’s learning, and sensitivity towards their circumstances and life experiences
• · High expectations of young people, and a commitment to raising standards of attainment to ensure that they can achieve their full educational potential
