We are in a position to appoint a dynamic and inspiring Assistant Head -Inclusion [SENCO] for our Federation, who is passionate about making a difference, and wants to work in collaboration with an excellent and inspiring team of professionals. The Federation of Towers Schools comprises of an Infant school and Junior school, situated on the same site that are formally joined together in a successful and happy federation and formal partnership. Our oversubscribed three form entry schools include an amazing nursery, where places are in high demand.

You will be joining a highly experienced Senior Leadership Team where the Executive Head Teacher is a NASEN accredited SEN reviewer. Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote co-production with families to ensure the best provision for our learners
  • Work positively with stakeholders, including the school nurse team and Local Authority SEN services, to maximise our school's offer
  • Produce termly reports for Governors on provision, data, and support our teaching framework
  • Ensure the website is up to date with relevant statutory information
  • Work with the support team to deliver effective training and monitoring opportunities
  • Ensure statutory obligations are met and manage information, resources, and budgets
  • Coordinate provision for children with SEND, including identifying interventions and ensuring access
  • Collaborate with and advise staff to develop their skills and expertise in supporting pupils with SEND
  • Oversee records of pupils with SEND and contribute to Statutory Assessments and Personal Education Plans
  • Manage learning support teams and ensure effective deployment and professional development

Organise and deliver INSET to raise staff awareness of current legislation and guidance

The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, strong leadership and management skills, and a proven track record of improving outcomes for pupils with SEND. You will also demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, and a commitment to continuous professional development.

Interviews: WB: 19 th May, this will consist of a learning walk exercise, an ‘in-tray’ exercise, meeting with staff, delivery of a presentation – topic to be shared to shortlisted candidates and a formal interview with the Senior Leadership Team and Governors.
