Job summary

Zizzi in Milton Keynes is seeking an Assistant Head Chef to lead shifts, run the pass and drive kitchen performance in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

You’ll work closely with the Head Chef, mentor junior chefs, ensure food quality and safety, and balance dine-in with delivery channels. The role offers hands-on leadership and scope to grow to Head Chef.

Flexible hours, minimum-hour contract, and staff meals included.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef or higher in a high-volume kitchen.
• Passion for Italian food, consistency and high standards.
• Confident leader who can run a shift.
• Availability during evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to balance on-shift leadership with delivery channels.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen and run the pass in the Head Chef's absence.
• Deliver food quality and consistency across dine-in and delivery.
• Hit kitchen performance metrics: stock, labour, prep, cost control.
• Coach and develop junior chefs.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness and food safety compliance.
