Job summary

Agricultural Recruitment Specialists Ltd is seeking an Assistant General Manager for a multi-species abattoir and food manufacturing facility in Staffordshire. You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure safe, compliant operations across slaughter, processing, and value-added production.

The role develops towards a General Manager position, with emphasis on leadership, KPI delivery, and cost optimization in a busy production environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in abattoir, meat processing or food manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Good understanding of food safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day site operations across slaughter, butchery and production.
• Deputise for General Manager and oversee site performance.
• Drive throughput, cost control and continuous improvement.
