Job summary

JD Gyms is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the day-to-day running of the club, working closely with the General Manager to uphold high standards of service, safety and facility cleanliness.

You will lead and develop the team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants, drive membership and commercial targets, and foster a positive, welcoming environment for members and colleagues alike.

• Experience leading and developing colleagues in a leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environment.
• Strong commitment to delivering excellent member service and effective leadership.
• Experience contributing to membership growth and commercial performance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure policies and procedures, including Health & Safety and Employee Policy, are followed.
• Recruit and manage a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to cover daily operations.

Working closely with the General Manager, you will help maintain high operational standards, support colleague development and contribute to achieving membership and commercial objectives.Through effective leadership, coaching and collaboration, you will help create a positive environment for colleagues and members, ensuring the club delivers exceptional experiences, strong operational performance and a safe, welcoming environment for all.Responsibilities:• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects, to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.• Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operational cover to ensure daily expectations are delivered.• Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.• Support the achievement of membership, revenue and commercial targets.• To drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.• To ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.• Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard.
