Job summary

JD Gyms in Milton Keynes is recruiting a Club Manager to lead a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants. You will drive membership growth, uphold our brand standards, and ensure safe, high-quality gym operations daily.

The role requires a proven management background in leisure, a sales mindset, and the ability to motivate staff while delivering exceptional member service.

Qualifications

• Proven and successful track record of management experience within a leisure related industry.
• Passionate about customer service and inspirational leadership.
• Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
• Proven track record in driving sales and coordinating local marketing activity.
• Experience as Assistant Manager or Fitness Manager is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook.
• Maintain JD Gyms Brand Standard.
• Conduct safety checks daily, weekly and monthly; report defects.
• Recruit and manage Fitness Coaches and General Assistants for operations.
• Hold regular team meetings for development and updates.
• Work toward and achieve all sales and membership targets.
• Drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.
• Ensure gym facilities are clean to the highest standard.
• Manage weekly banking to minimise wastage and maximise profit.
• Ensure uniform standards across team; foster a positive environment.
• Be an ambassador of JD Gyms at all times.

Role overview

This role requires a team player with flair and commercial ability, as well as the skill, energy and determination to help drive and develop the business alongside the General Manager. We're looking for a manager with the experience of maintaining and developing the standards and reputation, whilst nurturing a growing membership base and team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects, to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.
• Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operational cover to ensure daily expectations are delivered.
• Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.
• To work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets that are set.
• To drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.
• To ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.
• Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard. To manage the weekly banking process so that wastage and variance is minimal, maximising profit.
• To ensure uniform standards are being adhered to by all team members and yourself.
• To help create an environment where the team enjoy themselves whilst at work.
• To always be an ambassador of JD Gyms.

Skills and Experience

• Must have a proven and successful track record of management experience within a leisure related industry.
• Must be passionate about customer service and be an inspirational leader in the way they manage.
• Must be qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor
• Must have a proven track record in driving sales and co-ordinating local marketing activity as well as of recruiting and managing a successful team.
• Ideally will have experience as an Assistant Manager helping to oversee all business areas within a leisure facility or have substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or other similar operational function.
