A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and experienced Assistant General Manager to join one of North London's most exciting high-volume gastro pubs. Renowned for its seasonal menus, exceptional service, and vibrant atmosphere, this venue combines a quality food offering with a buzzing drinks trade, making it a destination for locals and visitors alike.

As Assistant General Manager, you’ll support the General Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day operations while leading from the front. You’ll be instrumental in driving service standards, team development, and commercial performance. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, premium environment and is passionate about hospitality.

About the job:

• Support the GM in managing daily operations across bar, floor, and kitchen
• Lead, train, and motivate a high-performing front-of-house team
• Deliver outstanding guest experiences, ensuring consistency and attention to detail
• Drive sales and support key KPIs including labour, stock control, and margin management
• Ensure full compliance with licensing, health & safety, and food hygiene regulations
• Assist in recruitment, training, and rota planning
• Act as a senior leader during shifts, resolving customer issues and supporting team dynamics

About You:

• Previous experience in an AGM or senior supervisory role within a high-volume, quality pub, restaurant, or similar
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and guest service
• Commercial awareness and experience with budgeting and stock control
• Ability to thrive under pressure and maintain high standards during busy periods
• A passion for great food, drink, and delivering exceptional hospitality
