Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is currently representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The ideal candidate is an experienced regulatory lawyer capable of providing practical, business-focused legal advice across various legal fields including regulatory law, commercial contracts, corporate governance, technology, privacy, and data security.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide legal support on diverse regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
- Advise on daily legal issues such as contracts, corporate governance, technology, privacy, data security, and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in managing the organization’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies across jurisdictions.
- Support risk management and finance teams with legal expertise.
- Manage legal needs for the organization’s global delivery center subsidiaries.
- Develop and implement governance policies, procedures, and playbooks.
- Review and advise on new services and solutions, including governance processes and regulatory issues.
- Manage external legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions ensuring cost-effective and efficient work delivery.
- Deliver practical, risk-aware legal advice aligned with business objectives.
- Support HR with complex employment law issues.
- Present on legal topics and author articles to share knowledge.
- Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
- UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
- Proven expertise in handling complex legal and regulatory issues.
- Strong risk management skills with strategic thinking ability.
- Experience advising on laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Ability to work independently and manage complex legal files, collaborating effectively with business teams.
- Capable of balancing legal risk management with the needs of a fast-growing global business.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work with diverse global stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
