Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the United Kingdom is seeking a Flood Risk Engineer to contribute to data analysis, hydraulic modelling, hydrology, GIS, and technical reporting on diverse projects.

You will work with environmental scientists, engineers, and planners, support tendering and client engagement, and help deliver projects across buildings, energy, water, and infrastructure while developing your skills in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Geography, Science, or Civil Engineering.
  • Some working knowledge of 1D-2D hydraulic modelling using Flood Modeller, ESTRY, TUFLOW, InfoWorks ICM or a strong desire to learn more.
  • GIS skills or a desire to learn.
  • Experience in flood risk analyses for planning, development, and design.
  • Experience in hydrological assessment, or a strong desire to learn.
  • Self-driven with commitment to technical excellence.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborative work.
  • Desire to learn and innovate across challenges and develop new approaches.
  • Well-organised with ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Desire to work to high standards.

Your role
  • You will be primarily involved in technical work such as Data analysis, Hydraulic modelling, Hydrology, GIS, and Technical reporting.
  • You will work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with environmental scientists, engineers, and planners, and provide a consistent service to clients.
  • You may also be asked to help support business development activities, including tendering for projects and client/stakeholder engagement.
About you
  • A degree in Geography, Science, or Civil Engineering.
