Job summary

L&Q, one of the UK’s largest housing associations, seeks an Assistant Finance Manager to join the Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance team. You’ll support the Head of Finance, mentor team members, and provide strategic financial insight to drive informed decisions.

The role is permanent, full-time (35 hours/week) with hybrid working. London weight £65,913 or regional £57,900, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• CCAB Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or CFA with evidence of post qualified experience
• Experience in Finance in Housing/Property/Construction and/or a large complex organisation
• Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
• Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, with proven business partnering experience
• Ability to mentor junior colleagues
• Strong time management, organisational and project management capabilities
• Advanced Excel and IT literacy in MS Office for reporting, modelling, and process automation and proficient in business intelligence software

Responsibilities

• Support management in the supervision and mentorship of finance team members to ensure high quality outputs of the team
• Deputising for the Head of Finance and Finance Manager in their areas of responsibility as and when required
• Provide strategic financial support and partner with budget holders across the business, to deliver insightful management information, strengthen relationships between finance and operational teams, and enable informed decision-making
• Assist in the preparation of management and statutory accounts, monitoring KPIs, and advising on business performance
• Contribute to the review and improvement of finance processes and compliance with financial regulations
