GXO Logistics, Inc. in Knowsley (Castore site) is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to join a busy finance team. The role supports accurate reporting, forecasting, budgeting and analysis to drive operational and commercial performance.

The position is full-time, permanent with hours 09:00–17:00, Monday to Friday. Salary up to £36,000 per annum, plus a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a finance or management accounting role
• Currently studying towards a professional accountancy qualification (CIMA or ACCA), or be AAT qualified (or equivalent)
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications, with experience of finance systems such as SAP, Oracle, Lucanet, or Blackline being advantageous
• Strong analytical skills, commercial awareness, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with knowledge of open-book accounting being beneficial

Responsibilities

• Produce weekly and monthly management accounts, delivering accurate financial reporting and insightful analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making
• Support budgeting, forecasting, period-end activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and wider financial control processes across the contract
• Prepare and deliver detailed customer reporting packs and supporting documentation, ensuring financial charges are accurately reported and understood
• Build strong relationships with operational teams, customers, and key stakeholders, developing a deep understanding of the operation and providing trusted financial support and challenge
• Monitor financial performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and use initiative and judgement to challenge the status quo, support operational excellence, and maximise value for the business
