Job summary

Equans UK & Ireland is recruiting an Assistant Facilities Manager for Burnley on an 11-month fixed-term contract. The role is full-time at 37.5 hours per week, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities include supervising caretaking staff, coordinating soft services, managing safety and COSHH compliance, and ensuring adherence to the Project Agreement and PPM schedules. The position involves security duties and liaison with the FM Contracts Manager.

• Respond promptly to routine and non-routine caretaking issues and provide cover as needed.
• Assist in recruitment and allocation of caretaking staff and tasks.
• Set objectives and appraise staff in line with policy.
• Control expenditure delegated by FM Contracts Manager.
• Act as key holder and ensure security procedures are followed.
• Respond to emergencies per the Joint Emergency Response Plan (JERP).
• Coordinate work of subcontractors and enforce policy on subcontractor management.
• Ensure maintenance tasks align with the planned preventive maintenance (PPM) programme.

Equans is looking for an Assistant Facilities Manager to join our team in Burnley on an 11 month fixed term contract basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, benefits package.

What will you deliver?

• Responsible for the delivery of caretaking services, together with establishing a close working relationship.
• Ensure that all services are provided to a consistently high standard in accordance with the requirements of the Project Agreement.
• Organise, manage and monitor the tasks of the caretaking staff.
• Respond in a timely manner to any issues with the delivery of routine and non-routine caretaking services and provide cover as necessary.
• Assist in the recruitment and selection of caretaking staff and the allocation of tasks.
• Set objectives and appraise staff in line with the Company Policy.
• Control expenditure as delegated by the FM Contracts Manager.
• Act as key holder. Ensure routine and non-routine security procedures are carried out for the buildings and grounds.
• Respond to emergency situations in accordance with the Joint Emergency Response Plan (JERP).
• Liaise and provide regular feedback to the FM Contracts Manager and representative on caretaking issues.
• Co-ordinate the work to be undertaken by subcontractors. Ensure the Company’s Policy on the management of approved subcontractors is fully implemented.
• Ensure maintenance tasks are carried out in accordance with the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programme
