Job summary

Westin Par is seeking an Assistant Estimator to join a growing construction contractor's Pre-Construction team in the UK. You will support tender preparation, review documents, and perform quantity take-offs from drawings, contributing to competitive bids and project handovers.

This role suits someone with construction or QS support experience, strong IT skills, and a full UK driving licence, aiming to develop their estimating career within a commercially focused environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of construction tenders and budgets

Are you looking to build a successful career as an Assistant Estimator within a growing construction business?

Our client, a well-established and expanding Main Contractor, is seeking an Assistant Estimator to join their Pre-Construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their estimating career, gain exposure to a wide variety of construction projects and work alongside experienced Estimators and construction professionals.

This role would suit candidates with experience in construction, estimating, quantity surveying support, construction administration or pre-construction who are keen to progress within a commercially focused environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within construction, estimating, pre-construction or a related environment
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and numerical ability
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
• Full UK Driving Licence

The Role

• Assisting with the preparation of construction tenders and budgets
• Reviewing tender documents, drawings and project specifications
• Undertaking quantity take-offs from construction drawings
• Preparing Bills of Quantities
• Issuing enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers
