Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an Assistant Estimator for its Erith operation in Greater London. The role focuses on assisting the pre-construction team with tendering, cost estimates and supplier quotations across internal trades and specialist packages.

You will gain exposure to dry lining, façades, glazing and building envelope packages while receiving mentoring from senior estimators. A permanent, full-time position offers real progression within a respected contractor.

Qualifications

• Previous estimating or commercial experience within construction.
• Experience with subcontractors, specialist contractors or main contractors.
• Knowledge of internal trades, M&E, dry lining, glazing, façades or related packages.
• Ability to read or interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Attention to detail and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications.
• Perform quantity take-offs and measurements.
• Prepare cost estimates and support tender submissions.
• Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Compare prices against labour, material and market rates.
• Assist senior estimators with tender proposals and risk assessment.
• Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Maintain tender records and pricing information.
