Job summary

NRS Dounreay is recruiting an Assistant Environmental Manager to support environmental compliance, regulatory engagement, and continuous improvement across the site. Working with the Head of Profession Environment, you will provide specialist environmental expertise and leadership within a highly regulated setting.

You will help develop and maintain ISO 14001 systems, supervise audits, and guide environmental teams while ensuring permits and licences are complied with.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental management within a regulated industry (nuclear or similar).
• Knowledge of UK environmental legislation and permits.
• Experience maintaining ISO 14001-certified management systems.

Responsibilities

• Support development and continuous improvement of environmental management systems.
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits, licences and ISO 14001 requirements.
• Provide specialist environmental advice to operations, regulators and stakeholders.
• Support audits, investigations and continuous improvement activities.
• Deputise for Head of Profession Environment and mentor environmental professionals.
