Job summary

Leicestershire Educational Psychology Service (LEPS) invites applications for an Assistant Educational Psychologist role hosted by Leicestershire County Council. You will support development, planning and delivery of Educational Psychology services across schools within the county, under supervision.

The post offers training, CPD, and opportunities to work with schools, settings and other agencies to promote inclusive practice and the SEND agenda.

Qualifications

  • Honours degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) conferring Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership with the British Psychological Society.
  • Considerable relevant experience of working with children and young people, parents, and other professionals.
  • Understanding of the role of the Educational Psychologist within a Local Authority context, including applying psychology to improve outcomes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders in various forms.
  • Ability to work independently across contexts including delivering training.
  • Experience delivering projects and training is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of SEND, safeguarding legislation and related Local Authority processes is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with development, planning and delivery of Educational Psychology services across Leicestershire.
  • Plan and deliver training and project work, including developing training materials, evaluation measures and reports.
  • Undertake supervised delivery of Educational Psychology services in schools with a qualified EP.
  • Prepare written feedback and information related to children and young people under supervision.
  • Work with schools and other agencies to support inclusive mainstream practice and belonging.
  • Engage in training, CPD and professional supervision.
  • Follow relevant legislative requirements and Code of Practice related to SEND and safeguarding.
