Job summary

Wigan Council is recruiting two 2-year fixed-term, full-time Assistant Educational Psychologists to join the Educational Psychology Service and contribute to whole-school approaches. A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) is required, with opportunities to pursue the professional doctorate and qualify as an Educational Psychologist.

We encourage flexible working where possible, and offer a blended approach to work locations, including home, office, or community settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) is required.
• Interest in embarking on the professional doctorate to qualify as an Educational Psychologist.
• Be part of a service that values evidence-informed practice and collaborates across teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of whole-school approaches in EPS.
• Contribute to the Emotionally Friendly Schools (EFS) programme for mental health.
• Collaborate with Educational Psychologists to improve outcomes for children, young people and families.
