Job summary

The London Borough of Havering invites applications for an Assistant Educational Psychologist (Soulbury SCP 2-5). Based with the Havering Educational Psychology Service, you will contribute to improving outcomes for children and families across schools and settings.

You will work within an Experts at Hand model, embedding guidance, evaluating interventions, and helping scale initiatives across Havering's schools.

Qualifications

• Degree in psychology held by candidate.
• Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs.
• Experience leading or taking responsibility for planning, delivery and evaluation of projects or research.
• Interest in supporting pupils with literacy difficulties and emotional-based attendance difficulties.
• Recent school-based experience, ideally in primary and secondary settings.

Responsibilities

• Embed guidance and training on emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA).
• Assist in evaluating the impact of interventions and projects.
• Support scaling of initiatives across schools to ensure consistency and sustainability.
