Job description

Role: Entry level Assistant Driller / Site Labourer

Location: Newmarket, Cambridgeshire

Arcadis is seeking an Assistant Driller / Site Labourer based at our Newmarket facility. The role involves working across the UK in various sectors, including manufacturing, petrochemical, and construction environments.

No prior land drilling experience is necessary as this is an entry-level position with opportunities for promotion to lead driller. The ideal candidate enjoys outdoor work and diverse site environments.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Lead Driller in operating drilling equipment and supporting drilling projects across the UK and Europe.
  • Travel to sites, set up and advance boreholes, collect samples, install monitoring equipment, and ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • Receive training from day one, including NVQ enrollment post-probation, with further training opportunities for career progression.
Additional Information:

The role requires travel during the week, with accommodation and expenses provided. Candidates should reside within a reasonable commute from Newmarket.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Motivated, outdoor-oriented individuals, preferably with backgrounds in military, construction, or agriculture.
  • Valid Category B driving license; additional licenses are a plus.
  • Ability to stay away from home Monday-Friday.
  • Basic IT skills and beneficial competencies such as CSCS, SPA/PIA, PTS.
