Jupiter Recruitment is seeking a committed Deputy Domiciliary Care Manager to lead operational activities within a Birmingham-based home care service. You will support the Registered Manager, drive quality assurance and regulatory compliance, and respond to service users and families with a responsive leadership style.

The role focuses on day-to-day management, supervising care staff, assessing needs, and maintaining accurate records in line with safeguarding and quality standards.

• Experience in domiciliary care in a senior role.
• Good understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding, medication practice, risk management and quality assurance.
• Ability to make sound decisions and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of domiciliary care services across the West Midlands.
• Coordinate operational priorities and ensure actions are followed through promptly.
• Monitor quality and consistency of care delivery through audits, observations and feedback.
• Support assessments, care planning and reviews with accurate, person-centred records.
• Promote compliance with CQC standards, policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Manage incidents, complaints and medication issues with timely reporting and learning.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and guidance to care staff.
• Assist with supervisions, appraisals, performance management and staff development.

An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Deputy Domiciliary Care Manager to work for an excellent home care service based in the Birmingham, West Midlands area. You will be working for a leading home care service in the UK

You will support the Registered Manager and other managers with operational leadership, quality assurance and regulatory compliance. The post holder will learn and progressively take ownership of management responsibilities while remaining visible, approachable and responsive to service users, families and colleagues

As the Deputy Manager your key responsibilities include:

• Support the Registered Manager with the safe, effective and efficient day-to-day running of domiciliary care services across the West Midlands
• Help coordinate operational priorities, respond to emerging issues and ensure actions are followed through promptly
• Monitor the quality and consistency of care delivery across boroughs through audits, observations, spot checks, service-user feedback and review of performance information
• Support assessments, care planning and reviews, ensuring records are accurate, person-centred, outcome-focused and updated when needs change
• Promote compliance with CQC fundamental standards, company policies, contractual requirements, safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation
• Support the management of incidents, accidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns and medication issues, ensuring timely reporting, investigation, learning and action
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and guidance to care coordinators, team leaders, and senior carers and care staff
• Assist with supervisions, appraisals, performance management, team meetings and staff development, escalating concerns appropriately

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

• Recent experience in domiciliary care as a care team leader, senior care coordinator or in a comparable senior operational role
• A good understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding, medication practice, risk management and quality assurance
• The confidence to make sound decisions, manage competing priorities and remain calm when responding to operational challenges.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a professional and compassionate approach
• The ability to coach colleagues, address performance concerns constructively and promote accountability
• Good digital and written skills, with the ability to maintain clear, accurate and confidential records.

The successful Deputy Manager will receive a salary of £15,000 - £20,000 per annum. This is a fantastic permanent role working part time hours 20-22 hours per week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
