Job summary

Asda is seeking an Assistant Designer for Womens Soft Wovens to join our fashion team at George House. The role focuses on researching trends, supporting PM collaboration, and ensuring customer-centric product development with a hybrid working pattern.

This position requires experience in fashion design, CAD (Photoshop/Illustrator), and coordinating with UK and overseas suppliers to develop multi-category products. Hybrid working with office and supplier visits is included.

Qualifications

• Experience in fashion design and trend research in clothing retail or supplier base environments.
• Experience coordinating with UK and overseas suppliers/factories for multi-category product development.
• Solid CAD skills and understanding of product development timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist researching new trends and market information to inform decision making.
• Support driving product development while keeping the customer at the heart of decisions.
• Coordinate with line manager and suppliers to ensure timely sample development and approvals.

• Experience within either a clothing retail or supply base design environment and a strong track record of researching and producing innovative designs in line with customer needs
• Experience in working with UK and overseas suppliers/ factories to develop multi category product
• A broad knowledge of CAD software (including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator) as well as a strong critical path understanding will be key
• An innovative approach and desire to drive a more digital way of working.
• Organised and efficient daily admin and sample management is essential.
• The ability to combine a number of research avenues – Social Media, Blogs & trend sites/books, etc to deliver innovative and commercial designs under the guidance of line manager.
