Job summary

Balliol College in Oxford is seeking an Assistant Dean for the Graduate Centre at Holywell Manor. The role is part-time, fixed term, with an honorarium of £2,916 per annum, and requires on-site residence year-round to support graduate students and events.

The post holder will exercise decanal authority, uphold College rules, coordinate welfare resources, and liaise with Lodge Porters, Junior Deans, and the Dean. Training in safety and welfare is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in welfare or student-support roles in higher education.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English.
• Ability to manage confidential information with tact and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day decanal authority in the Graduate Centre.
• Uphold College rules and support an international graduate community.
• Coordinate safety, welfare resources and events with staff and students.
• Sign-post students to Welfare and University resources.
• Attend required training (First Aid, welfare, safety).
