Lloyd's Register International in Cardiff is seeking an Assistant Curator (Visual Art) to support the Senior Curator in delivering the 2027 exhibitions programme. You will work with artists and communities to design and manage a public engagement programme alongside these exhibitions, ensuring strong alignment with the wider multi-artform programme.

The role involves collaborating with curatorial, engagement and marketing teams to embed visual arts in audience-facing activity.

Job description

Contract: Fixed term maternity cover for eight months (subject to a three month probationary period), with the possibility of extension to ten monthsDeadline: Monday 28 September, 9amInterviews: Friday 2 OctoberSalary: £29,0162 (pro rata) – £17,410 actual salaryHours: 24 hours per week (TOIL). Some weekend and evening work will be necessary.Location: Candidates will be based in the office at Chapter in Cardiff but will be expected to spend time working outside of the venue. We offer a hybrid model which means that, when possible, you can also work from home.

Purpose of role

The Assistant Curator (Visual Art) will work with the Senior Curator to co-ordinate and deliver our 2027 exhibitions programme and work with artists and communities to design and manage a public engagement programme alongside these exhibitions.

They’ll work closely with other members of the curatorial, engagement and marketing teams to ensure that the visual arts programme is embedded in the wider multi-artform programme and communicated cohesively to audiences.
