Job summary

Sigma Retail Solutions Limited is seeking a part-qualified finance professional to develop their career within a dynamic and growing business. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will help prepare the Group's consolidated management accounts across seven companies and assist in financial compliance and intercompany reporting.

You will gain exposure to Group finance activities, work with stakeholders across the business, and contribute to process improvements while enjoying hybrid working

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing management accounts.
• Experience in consolidated accounts is advantageous but not essential.
• Understanding month-end accounting processes and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience in a multi-company environment would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of the Group's consolidated monthly management accounts.
• Support month-end reporting for Group Central Overheads and budget monitoring.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations for central functions.
• Own intercompany reconciliation processes and ensure balances are reconciled.
• Assist in quarterly Group cash flow forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Analyze variances, trends and financial performance indicators.
• Support ad hoc financial analysis and project work.
• Contribute to process and control improvements.

Outline of role

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified finance professional looking to develop their career within a dynamic and growing business.

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will play a key role in the preparation of the Group's consolidated management accounts across seven companies, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. You will also support financial compliance activities across the corporate structure, including banking, taxation, forecasting and intercompany reporting.

This role offers significant exposure to Group finance activities and the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across the business.

Main responsibilities

• Support the Corporate Controller in the preparation of the Group's consolidated monthly management accounts.
• Take ownership of the month-end reporting requirements for Group Central Overheads, including reviewing operating costs and partnering with budget holders to monitor performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations for central functions.
• Own the monthly intercompany reconciliation process, ensuring balances are agreed between counterparties and cleared promptly.
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly Group cash flow forecasts.
• Ensure central management accounts, budgets and forecasts comply with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
• Analyse and explain key variances, trends and financial performance indicators.
• Review the Group VAT return, completing reconciliations and supporting analysis as required.
• Support the Corporate Controller with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting and project work.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.

Knowledge and experience required

• Previous experience in the preparation of management accounts.
• Experience of consolidated accounts would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Understanding of month-end accounting processes and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience working within a multi-company or Group environment would be beneficial.
• Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany accounting processes.

• Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
