We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, and committed Assistant Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Penrith. In this key role, you will provide vital operational and administrative support across our Health and Wellbeing, Education, and Outdoor Teams - helping us deliver life-changing services to children and young people.

About The Role

You will be responsible for the smooth coordination of team operations, including scheduling, minute-taking, documentation management, and communication with internal and external stakeholders. You'll spend 3 days per week supporting the Health and Wellbeing team, and 2 days assisting our Education and Outdoor teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills and a passion for supporting services that impact young lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver administrative support across our wrap-around support teams.
  • Prepare and distribute agendas and minutes for multiple team meetings.
  • Book and manage internal/external meetings.
  • Maintain essential resources.
  • Create key timeline plans for our children and coordinate MAP (Multi-Agency Planning) meetings.
  • Monitor missed/rescheduled meetings and maintain up-to-date social worker contact records.
  • Issue reminders for required documentation and check compliance.
  • Provide cover for the Team Coordinator during absences.
  • Assist with scheduling, coordination, and document organisation.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in administration in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a varied workload, and handle sensitive information.
  • Business Administration qualification.
  • Experience in children's services, education, or health & wellbeing settings.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, data confidentiality, and case management systems.

What We Offer

  • Annual Leave: 33 days per year, with additional leave at 2 and 5 years of service.
  • Comprehensive Training: A thorough induction and tailored training academy to support your development.
  • Referral Bonuses: Earn £1,000 for every successful referral of a friend.
  • Pension Scheme: Automatic enrolment into our company pension.
  • Recognition Awards: Celebrate successes with our monthly Wilderness Heroes Awards.
  • Health and Wellbeing Benefits: Access to Medicash, including a healthcare cashback plan, virtual GP services, and discounted gym memberships.
  • Life Assurance: Coverage worth twice your annual salary.
  • Discounts and Perks: Save with exclusive deals on high street brands, restaurants, and leisure outlets, plus discounts from local businesses based on employee feedback.

At Wilderness Way, we're committed to equality and the safety of children in our care. If you're ready to make a lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you. This role is subject to necessary background checks, including an Enhanced DBS, Access NI, or Disclosure Scotland
